Year 2013. Chapel Bridge, the iconic bridge of Lucern City, is (was) a medieval construction (14th Century) that crosses the city where the Lucern Lake embraces the Reuss river. In 1993, just after midnight, a fire started in a small boat parked underneath has destroyed almost everything except the Water Tower. So powerful icon could not be left wrangling in the corridors of the state departments. Not in Switzerland. One year later the bridge was completely rebuild using the same materials as the original and the sacred paintings restored as much as they could.
