Year 2007 collection.  “I love the lotus because, while growing from mud, it is unstained” a statement by the Confucian scholar Zhou Dunyi. It is not a coincidence the lotus represents the purity of body and elegance in Hindu and Buddhist cultures. We only need to observe them in a mud environment when heavy rain splashes the mess; they just keep their purity as if nothing is happening. This photo was taken in a muddy irrigation canal in Thailand and while it was a real mess around, this lotus remained immaculate.
